It's 6 o'clock and cold outside. I have to dress up warm. I'll take the horse with me.
First I have to shovel some snow, so it's easier to cut down the trees. Now I slice bark out of them with a barking iron.
So! Now is done. Finally! now it's time for coffee break. It's nice to sit by camp fire and have a cup of coffee. Warms you sleep nicely.
Wrong answer. Try again.
Floating is a way to transport timber, logs mainly, on water. It's cheap way to transport logs and timber.
Nowadays piles of wood are transported in lakes and seas by towing them. In creeks and rivers they were moving by the current, but in Finland floating in rivers hasn't been done since 1990.
It's morning 6 o' clock. Pekka gets up early, because he is going to float some logs to Ruunaa rapids.
Now coffee break is over and the work starts. Pekka takes his hook and other gear with him.
Right. There is blockjam. I have to take my hook and push the logs further away.
Now we have coffee break and boy am I hungry! Luckily I have half a loaf of bread, some grease and piece of meat.
Its 4 p.m. Pekka is going logging cabin to have some porridge. I will make some fire wood for the cook.
Then Pekka went off to float timber and saw the wood. It was very hot outside, because it was summer and there was some heat.
